FORGET ABOUT PUERTO RICO, HAPPENED OVER THE LUNCH HOUR TODAY AT MEREDITH MIDDLE SCHOOL IN FLORIDA. JUST SOFTWARE ANOTHER BIG HURRICANE AND THEY HAVE A HUGE DEVASTATION TO SO PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT US FORGET ABOUT PUERTO RICO. SO THIS IS JUST MORE BRINGING AWARENESS THAT IS HAPPENING IN AMERICAN PLACES THAT WE NEED TO BE AWARE. WE NEED TO DONATE AND WE TO BE PROACTIVE AND HELP THESE PEOPLE. DONUTS AND WE’RE THE BIGGEST SELLER TODAY. THEY WERE GONE ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND IN JUST 2 HOURS, THE FUNDRAISER BROUGHT IN $400. The Spanish department and Dream To Teach students at Meredith Middle School in Des Moines held a fundraiser on Wednesday called ‘Donut Forget about Puerto Rico’ to raise money for continuing Hurricane Fiona relief in Puerto Rico.Spanish teacher Johanys Alvarez organized the bake sale that was held during the lunch hour at school. Students bought doughnuts, cookies and lemonade. They were able to raise $400.The money raised will be donated to two organizations helping with the relief, El Foster Club and Taller Salud. El Foster Club is a nonprofit organization that helps find foster care for dogs and cats in Puerto Rico. Taller Salud is a feminist organization working on disaster response after Hurricane Fiona.
